Christelle Yambayisa, her history and her connection with photography.

Christelle Yambayisa, a model and artist of Rwandan origin, tells us about her origins, her path and her story.
This path led her to photography and she tells us more about this passion and her upcoming events.
Christelle was born in Rwanda in 1988. In 1996, she and her family fled the war and genocide and found refuge in France.

For the past 6 years she has been pursuing a career as a model, which has changed her life in a positive and personal way.

She has also had a passion for photography since she was a young girl.
The photo has always been linked to her story, as she tells us about the day when, on Mother's Day, she had to create a collage for school with photos of her from her birth.

When she returned home, her mother explained that she had no more photos of her childhood, everything had been burnt during the war.

The next day, her mother gave her a disposable camera and encouraged her to create her own memories. A revolution for Christelle in her relationship with photography.
A few years later, after a long search, her mother finally found a photo of the two of them from before 1996, the year Christelle and her family fled Rwanda.

Since then, she has never taken the photo out of her possession, reminding her of where she came from.
For her, the act of photographing and freezing images has a profound meaning and allows her to grow and enrich herself.

It was when she became a model that she began to photograph people other than those closest to her.
Thanks to her profession, she opens up to the world, travels, meets people and captures each of these moments.
It is these moments captured over the years that she has decided to showcase through her exhibition.

This upcoming exhibition is also an opportunity for her to support La Mode Européenne, an association that recovers unsold clothes from European brands to sort them and redistribute them to needy populations on the African continent.
It is only in the last few years that Christelle has been proudly talking about
her origins and it is in the second episode of Tara Talk that she wanted to share it.
